Shawnessa Devonish is a National Board Certified Counselor and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor located in Maryland. She primarily helps millennial clients heal and grow from past abandonment traumas that developed due to the lack of involvement and/ or alienation from a family member during childhood. She assists clients with coping with issues in relation to emotional neglect, psychological abuse, depression, anxiety, and generational trauma.

She prides herself in helping clients heal from emotional scars while discovering their strengths and self-worth. Shawnessa received her Bachelor of Science in Law and Society and Sociology from Frostburg State University where she graduated Cum Laude. During her time there, she was also inducted into the Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society and received the Dr. Leroy Kohler Outstanding Senior Sociology Award.

She completed her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Messiah University. During her time there, she was inducted into the Chi Sigma Iota, the professional academic honor society for counseling professionals. She has a five-year background in the behavioral health field which includes counseling, case management, and psychiatric rehabilitation services to marginalized populations located in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
